As part of my work I have been fortunate to visit a number of U.S. cities and while there wander the halls and galleries of the fine art museums. I also benefit from having access to a host of great museums in my home base, NYC. Aggregated here is a small percentage of the thousands of works of art I have enjoyed along the way. Included are only those I snapped on my phone in the moment because they grabbed me in some way. No rhyme or reason for the selections other than a requirement to have a least three of the artist's works in my archive and an acknowledged bias toward Impressionists. I have also limited this to paintings and drawings (excepting Chihuly and Tiffany), so apologies to those who prefer three dimensions. You will also note the exclusion of picture frames. Although often works of art in their own, I think them not a choice of the artist and prefer the unadorned canvas as it appeared on the easel. All errors, omissions and calibrations are my own. You will find, following the work's title, the institution where I viewed the work followed by information on medium and donor. In some cases works were on loan from other venues as part of a special exhibition. Works without a donor credit were purchased by the museum. I hope you enjoy as I did. I have found, like great theater, great art reflects our humanity back to us. Worts and all.
